Location: Balaton Street riverfront.
Attendance: 12 people, including one new member - welcome aboard Anthony.
Achievements: Revegetation maintenance at Balaton Street entrance to Coucal Trail.

This site was first planted in February 1999, after ground preparation and mulching by the Green Corps crew in December 1998, and is now well established.

Location: Balaton Street riverfront.
Attendance: 10 people, including three visitors/new members - welcome to Jenny, Ian and Scott.
Achievements: Revegetation maintenance past Balaton Street entrance to Coucal Trail, east side of trail, adjoining and north of February's site.

This site was previously cleared of exotic weeds (mainly Guinea grass, Glycine and Lantana) in November 1999, mulched and planted in Nov/Dec 1999.

Achievements: Revegetation and rehabilitation maintenance between Balaton Street boardwalks and lookout structure on Coucal Trail, west side of trail.

This site was previously cleared of exotic weeds (mainly Guinea grass, Glycine and Lantana), mulched and planted on Weedbuster Day, October 1996 (attendance 40 people).

Celebrate World Environment Day (Monday, 5 June 2000) by joining our Breakfast in the Park.

Balaton St, Westlake (at the riverfront viewing platform).
Provided: Hot water, tea, coffee, etc.
BYO: mug, breakfast food, family and friends.

Note: One hour duration to allow for those who wish to join the Walk for Reconciliation (see next item).

  • Balaton Street riverfront
  • Below the Barcoorah St rock escarpment (access from Balaton St or Callabona St)
  • Callabonna Street riverfront (between Nisbet St and Gidgee Close)
  • The 'Big Fig Tree', cnr Westlake Drive and Tennent Street
If in doubt about the venue for the working bee on any particular day, please check noticeboard at Balaton Street for latest information on the day.
