Save Our Riverfront Bushland (SORB) ...

...is a Centenary Suburbs residents' committee established as a result of a public meeting on 1 Sep 1991 held to express concern at the wide scale clearing of large tracts of remnant riverfront bushland in the south-western suburbs of Brisbane.

SORB acts for: (1) protection of remnant bushland; (2) retention of public access to the riverfront; and (3) adequate provision of public open space in the Centenary Suburbs.

SORB established Westlake-Riverhills Bushcare Group (WRBG), a community based bushcare group which has been operating since 1993 under the Brisbane City Council's Habitat Brisbane Program. WRBG undertakes bushland rehabilitation work along Pullen Reach of the Brisbane River (refer map).
.. See Centenary & District Environment Action for details of the dozen bushcare groups now operating in south-west Brisbane.

(The Centenary Suburbs is a group of outer suburbs of Brisbane (in the state of Queensland, Australia) which fringe the Brisbane River some 16km south-west of the Brisbane city centre.)
